Top Gear - Honda Civic & Honda NSX Type R

This book is for the reader that has a good grasp of the basics of engine management. It takes the basics and expands on them to a level where the reader can understand how to improve and adjust factory ECUs and aftermarket ECUs.

This book gives the fundamental perspective of electronic engine management. It explains the factors that car manufacturers look at when designing their maps. This book gives the reader a very sound understanding of the fundamentals of engine management.

The original and probably still the best book available for understanding and designing turbo systems from the ground up. Covers everything from the basics right up to selecting intercooler sizes and reading compressor maps.

Not as in depth as the books above but this book takes a much more hands on approach to actually installing and setting up a stand alone engine management system. It covers such things as sensor placement and building a map from nothing. It perfectly complements the 2 books above.

A nuts and bolt look at engine tuning. The book above looks at the electronic fundamentals, this book looks at the mechanical fundamentals. Covers such things as cam timing, exhaust header lengths, correct oil selection. An old school book but the points made still stand true today.

If there is one book to buy which explains the current credit crisis in plain English, this it. Absolute gold.
