Trackday Insurance News
Free trackday insurance (EVO
Magazine 18th October 2006)
Insurance companies aren’t noted for their
generosity or flexibility, especially when it comes to trackday cover.
Great news, then, to hear that
Herts Insurance Consultants Ltd has taken the bold decision to
include trackday cover for free as part of its comprehensive insurance
schemes.
Provided the trackday is held in the UK, organised
by a member of the Association of Track Day Organisers, ARDS or similar,
and involves no timing or competitive element, HIC will provide cover at
no extra cost. The excess is higher than for normal road use, but not
massively so, and there’s no limit to the number of trackdays you can
do.
As it can cost several hundred pounds to cover
your car for a single trackday through a specialist motorsport insurer,
the value of HIC’s inclusive cover is significant.
