Time Attack Series
National Autosport Assocaition
Welcome to the National Auto Sport Association. We are a business
dedicated to organizing and promoting racing activities for both the
aspiring or accomplished racer.
The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) was
formed in 1991 to deliver high quality motorsports events to enthusiasts
at major racing venues throughout the nation. NASA has created programs
that allow owners of both racecars and high-performance street-driven
vehicles to enjoy the full performance capabilities of their cars in a
safe and controlled environment. NASA offers many different programs
that will allow you to enjoy motorsports on a number of different
levels, including our High Performance Driving Events (HPDE), Rally
Sport, Time Trial, NASA-X and Competition Racing programs.
Redline Time Attack
The next "Big Thing" in automotive lifestyle and
motor sports events! The Redline: Time Attack brings the full throttle
excitement of time attack racing, popular in Japan and Europe, to the
shores of North America. Redline is the first sanctioned time attack
series open to the general public. So far you have only been able to
read about time attack events in popular magazines. Now is your chance
to actually participate in one!
Super Lap Battle
Super Lap Battle is the ultimate test for a tuner, combining all areas
of car setup. It is about getting the best setup of engine work,
suspension/brakes, aerodynamics and wheels/tires to work in harmony to
get the single fastest lap time possible. This event is a time trial
based contest similar to most race organizations qualifying sessions.
Cars go on track to compete for the fastest single lap time. The event
started in April 2004 under the name Time Attack and was put together by
the editors of Sport Compact Car and Super Street. The track of choice
was to be Buttonwillow in the clockwise 13 configuration. This event for
the first time was able to bring out the top tuners in the USA and Japan
to compete on the road course. Signal Auto’s R34 GTR pulled off the
fastest time of the day with a 1:54. Later in the same year we held
another event in November where Sun Auto’s Cyber Evo driven by Tarzan
Yamada set a long standing record of 1:48.906. The current record is
held by Nobuteru Taniguchi in the HKS CT230R with a 1:43.523.
